Kinkakuji
Kinkakuji (金閣寺 Golden Pavilion) is a Zen temple formally known as Rokuonji(鹿苑寺). It was built in 1397 as a retirement place for Shogun Yoshimitsu Ashikaga (足利義満), and was converted into a Zen temple after Yoshimitsu’s death in 1408.
