Kongobuji
Koyasan is the center of Shingon Buddhism (a Buddhist sect which was introduced to Japan in early 9th century by one of the most significant person of Japanese buddhism "Kobo Daishi (Kukai)"), and Kongobuji is the main temple of Koyasan.

Koyasan kongobuji(金剛峯寺) DATA
- Address: 132 Koyasan, Koya-cho, Ito-gun, Wakayama
- Transport: Take Nankai Railways from Osaka's Namba or Shin-Imamiya Station to the terminal station Gokurakubashi. It takes about 80 minutes and costs 1,610 Yen by limited express (tokkyu) . From Gokurakubashi, take the cablecar up Koyasan. It takes about five minutes and costs 380 Yen. From the top station, it is a 10 minute bus ride into the town center.
